The Team Colours Project.

The Lightweight (1980-2002)

References 501 - 600.

More teams from the early 1980s. The release dates of these are not straightforward. 501-509 arrived in 1981, and 540-560 (the NASL teams) arrived in 1982. The gaps were filled 1983-84.  Please note that 501-509 are taken from the 1981 catalogue, but the colours of these teams look different on some of the later posters. Mind you, these teams were first released in Italy in 1980.

June 2002: The gap in teams between 580 and 592 has now been explained. Jokari were planning to release teams for the American "Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), but the teams were never produced. For the record, I have added the names of these teams to the list, but I have put the names in red to indicate that they do not exist. To tidy things up, I've also put the four "non-existent" NASL teams in red.

Dimitrios sent me the scan of his 550 Fort Lauderdale Strikers. Note that the socks are black, not white, and that it has simple red and yellow hoops. The catalogue image is probably just not that accurate. Note that the figure does have "Strikers" written across the chest, as suggested in the 1985 and 1986 catalogues. A really beautiful team :-)
